the article provides a definition of the concept of transformation of agricultural land, as well as a brief statistics of changes in their area on the territory of the country. The situations in which the transfer of agricultural land from one type to another is required are described. A comparative analysis of the regulatory and legal documentation regulating land relations during land transformation in the southern and northern regions of the country is presented on the example of South Ossetia, the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Kalmykia, Rostov and Leningrad regions. Recommendations for solving problems related to the transformation of agricultural land are presented.
