The rapid development of technology in the world has served as a catalyst for the transition of the economy to a “digital track.” The Russian Federation, acting as a catch-up in this area, has made a significant breakthrough since the President announced the course towards digitalization in 2017. Step by step, a digital platform economy began to form in the country, and the trend towards scaling digital ecosystems gradually increased. Regional economies, being integral components of the country's economy, are the objects of close attention from the Government. For each region, a digital transformation program has been developed covering different industries, and the regions themselves are divided into three groups with different approaches to digitalization. The main limiting factors in regional digitalization are: digital inequality between different subjects of the federation, a constant lack of qualified personnel in the field of digital technologies, as well as their significant cost for regions remote from the center. Some flaws in the digitalization strategy and federal documents do not fully reflect the specifics of the economy of individual regions, as well as low integration of digital technologies into the economy of individual constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Method or methodology of work. The work uses methods of comparative assessment and logical analysis. Goal of the work. A comprehensive analysis of actions taken to implement the digital transformation of the economy of the Russian Federation and its constituent entities. Conclusions. The transition to the digital economy in the Russian Federation is carried out unevenly from subject to subject. It is necessary to eliminate discrepancies in federal documentation, the digital divide between regions, the lack of competent technical specialists, and provide them with decent wages, regardless of their region of residence. Overall, the country's transition to a digital economy accelerated significantly in 2022 and continues to accelerate.
