The article is devoted to the current topic of innovative development of the construction industry. The types of innovations that are closely interrelated and dictate certain requirements for the innovation activities of enterprises are listed. Technical and technological innovations leave their imprint on the content of production building processes, and also create conditions for managerial innovations. The factors affecting the innovation and investment activities in the construction industry are presented and the main reasons hindering the implementation of innovations in construction are given.  The reasons and factors of slowness and conservatism in relation to the introduction and wide dissemination of technologies can be used as recommended methodological approaches.
