The article is devoted to the study of the prospects for the development of the sphere of recreation and tourism in the mountainous regions of the Krasnodar Territory. The relevance of the topic is indicated as the promising development of the tourism and service industry. Attracting tourists will increase the income of local budgets, develop the infrastructure of tourism and related services: catering industries, hotel business. The types of tourism as a recreational service and destination are considered. The tourism opportunities of the declared territory have been studied. The characteristics of the mountainous regions of the Krasnodar Territory as tourist sites are given. An analysis of tourism activity was carried out using the matrix method of the Boston Consulting Group. A conclusion is made about the tourism and recreational opportunities of the mountainous regions of the Krasnodar Territory.
