В статье приведены новые, ранее неопубликованные сведения о деятельности Н.П. Смецкого на посту директора Константиновского межевого института. Указанные материалы получены в результате работы авторов в Российском государственном архиве древних актов, Центральном государственном архиве г. Москвы, а также в Отделе рукописей Российской государственной библиотеки. Данная статья является продолжением многолетних исследований ученых Государственного университета по землеустройству, посвященных истории Константиновского межевого института.

The article presents new data, that haven’t been published before, on activity of N.P. Smetskiy as the Director of the Konstantinovskiy Surveying Institute. The abovementioned gained data are the result of work of the authors at the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, the Central State Archive of the city of Moscow, as well as at the Department of Manuscripts of the Russian State Library. This article is a continuation of multi-year researches of scientists of the State University of Land Use Planning, dedicated to history of the Konstantinovskiy Surveying Institute.
