The article describes the features of project planning and preparation of its feasibility study. The analysis of a wide range of methods and approaches used for project planning and preparation of their feasibility study. The study was not only classical approaches, but also non-traditional. The conclusion is formulated in the direction that in the conditions of unsteadiness the tools of economic and mathematical modeling should be used to make competent and economically justified decisions. The current economic situation at the present stage of development is characterized by unsteadiness, which must be taken into account in the course of making competent design decisions. Consequently, the problem of taking into account non-stationary conditions becomes particularly relevant in the process of project planning and preparation of their feasibility study.
