The article presents the results of a study on the territorial organization of tourism along the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar region of Russia. It examines the current state of the tourism industry in this area, based on a model of recreational system proposed by V.S. Preobrazhensky in the 1970s and updated by leading experts. It also analyzes the impact of the Olympic Games on Sochi's tourism infrastructure, which has led to an uneven development of the industry in other parts of the region. Despite the significant economic contributions of major resorts like Sochi, Anapa, and Gelendzhik, many other cities and areas remain underdeveloped. Additional investments are needed to improve the tourism infrastructure in these areas. Special attention is paid to the hotel infrastructure in the region, which is characterized by an uneven distribution of high-quality accommodation options. Large resorts dominate in terms of 4- and 5-star hotels, while more remote areas offer more modest accommodation choices. An important part of the article is the discussion of proposals for developing wild beaches and less-known tourist destinations, which could become new growth points for the regional economy. The study also examines the various elements of the tourism and recreational framework in the area, including support centers, transit hubs, sightseeing routes, and nature reserves. It emphasizes the need to diversify the tourism infrastructure and attract more investment to less developed regions, as this could contribute to sustainable tourism development and improve the quality of life for local residents.
