The development of the agro-industrial complex in the Russian Federation remains relevant. An analysis of the situation in the regions shows that the structure of industries is developing unevenly. This is supported by economic indicators in the Russian regions, which characterize structural imbalances in industries. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current problems of the development of the Russian agro-industrial complex. The reliability and validity of the obtained research results is based on the theoretical analysis of scientific literature, statistical data and expert opinions. It is concluded that the low quality of state regulation exacerbates chronic problems in the agricultural sectors, and Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation will be fruitless.
