Promising aviation fuel methanol for aircraft of various purposes is considered: unmanned aircraft, transport and passenger aviation. An economic analysis of methanol fuel application has been carried out. It has been shown that methanol has undeniable advantages, such as the cost of production, infrastructure costs, and the efficiency of a methanol propulsion system. The losses during the use of methanol from its production to the conversion of methanol into aerodynamic force are considered. It has been revealed that in modern economic conditions methanol has a number of undeniable advantages. The conclusion is made about the economic efficiency of using methanol as an aviation fuel.
